An actual end to the challenge.
I apologize in advance for the slop level I've produced.
Added Bounds.
Additionally, the 4×4 Challenge precludes the unbroken “tower in the centre” layout unless the path is less than 2 tiles wide. I generally dislike how cramped that is, forcing me to find more creative and intricate solutions.
I agree; I do find your version interesting as well. I simply like tower levels. 😉
I'm not saying the 4x4xInf challenge is bad, it's cool, it just creates these "tower levels". I find equal satisfaction in levels that are constrained on all three axes, and it typically leads to very intricate geometry since you have truly limited space to work with
It is intriguing that I started this idea of creating levels smaller than 10×10, and yet I am the only one to take it seriously.
“I would love a 3D version of this challenge: NxNxN, so "fit the best possible level into a 6x6x6 cube", for example. I think that'd make for some dope levels too.” I thought about this, but I love when the height limit is infinite because the length of the level is unlimited. Instead, make the limit 4x4x∞. I am working on a level that beats the 4x4 Challenge as well as possible.
